Job Title: Lab TechnicianOvernight and swing shift openings!Job DescriptionWe are seeking a diligent Lab Technician to run quality control tests and assist in meeting all site goals including safety, environmental, quality, volume, cost, GMP, training, and personnel. The ideal candidate will follow cGMP and GLP guidelines, prepare for and assist with CDL standardization and safety inspections, and maintain chemical and material inventories.Responsibilities

Run quality control tests

Assist in meeting site goals including safety, environmental, quality, volume, cost, GMP, training, and personnel

Always follow cGMP and GLP guidelines

Prepare for and assist with CDL standardization and safety inspections

Assist with Lab-ware tasks when the lab-ware technician is out

Maintain chemical and material inventories for daily media make-up and 12L flasks inoculation

Maintain CDL ISO procedures and respond to any CDL related non-conformities

Participate in routine area inspections and safety walk-throughs

Assist with identifying and implementing new processes and procedures

Follow company's Cardinal Rules

Coordinate maintenance of CDL equipment and computer systems

Assist in training and enforce adherence to CDL/SBP standard operating procedures

Implement and support the environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) management system

Essential Skills

Basic lab skills in Chemistry and Biology

Proficiency in GMP and GLP

Knowledge of operating procedures for bright field microscope, pH meters, centrifuges, YSI machine (sugar analyzers), scales, and refractometer

Ability to perform Gram stains and identify contaminants (e.g. gram positive, gram negative bacteria)

Contamination prevention

Frozen culture preparation and validation

CDL autoclaves operation

Aseptic techniques

Basic math and English language reading skills

Intermediate computer skills including email, Word, and Excel

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Science college courses desired, preferred in Microbiology and Chemistry

Work EnvironmentThe position requires working in a 24/7 environment consisting of different shifts (e.g. day shift, swing shift, and graveyard shift), including the ability to work overtime with very short notice, weekend and holidays coverage. The specific swing shift is from 1:30pm to 10pm with Tuesday and Wednesday as days off.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
