Data Engineer Work as part of a cutting edge technology team focused on building a Cloud platform and developing creative data solutions. RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS Determine and recommend platforms and correct functioning for the central data warehouseand other related components of the larger BI solution Experience in architecting, designing and implementing data solutions in a cloud-nativeenvironment (AWS preferred). Work as part of data engineering team to define and develop data ingestion, validation,transformation and data engineering code within Python Continued analysis of the BI solution to identify opportunities for improvement and costsavings Maintain, support, and enhance the business intelligence data backend, including datawarehouses Map configurations and complex data architectures, ensuring documentation meets currentand forecasted needs Receive requirements from Operations leadership and project leads, and collaborate asnecessary to ensure the data, reporting, analytics, and automation needs of the businessare met Work with Operations team members and project leads to thoroughly test developedreporting and other solutions Provide technical guidance for design and implementation of data storage and governancesystems Design and monitor end-user reporting analysis tools and systems, ensuring reports andanalytics are accurate and up-to-date Perform tasks that contribute to the development and improvement of processes, reporting,and analytics for the entire organization. Review existing reporting and solutions to ensure they are accurate, well-designed, andefficient Perform basic Database Administration tasks to monitor and support the BI serverenvironment, and collaborate with IT as necessaryKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES Extensive experience in industry standard BI and data warehouse tools, applications, andhardware. Extensive experience in SQL and SSRS reporting writing, system design, and solutiondevelopment General knowledge of Windows Server administration A passion for analytics, analysis tools, and visualization design A desire and aptitude to develop a deep knowledge of business systems and businessprocesses A drive to gain a thorough understanding of the “what”, “why”, “where”, “when”, and “how” ofeach request. Enjoys collaborating, sharing ideas, and supporting various levels of employees Thrives in an extremely fast-paced environment with multiple areas of focus Always looking to improve and enhance everything you touch MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum of five (5) years of experience architecting, designing, and developingdatabases and data warehouses in a multi-database, multi-server environment usingMS SQL Minimum of five (5) years of supporting a production reporting solution in compliancewith a staging process (dev/test/prod), including creating artifacts used for deploymenthand-off and disaster recovery Minimum of five (5) years developing and implementing data warehouse dimensionalmodeling, as well as Type I and Type II dimensions Minimum of five (5) years in developing large scale data processing/data storage/datadistribution systems Minimum of five (5) years experience of Python, Python ETL experience preferred Experience with AWS and cloud environments including S3 object storage, EC2, RDS andRedshift Experience with Linux (RHEL or Centos preferred) environments Proficiency with SQL Objects including, but not limited to stored procedures, views,functions, linked servers, indexing, primary keys, data types, and user security. Proficient with reporting and analysis tools and frameworks (i.e., SSRS, Tableau,Adaptive Insights), especially data sources, ETL, schedules, and security Knowledge of best CI/CD practices. Proficient in the design, development, and optimization of data sources, visualizations,and dashboards in Tableau Proficient in Tableau server administration General knowledge of C# to facilitate troubleshooting Experience and discipline use of version control tools (i.e., GIT) Experience with Agile practices (Scrum, sprints, Kanban, etc) Experience working with, or in, the staffing industry Proficient in ETL best practices related to data modeling, data quality, master datamanagement, and performance tuning Experience with database performance tuning Experience and disciplined use of documentation tools and time tracking tools
