We are a Christian family looking for a full time, long term nanny / “mothers helper.” Please apply only if you are truly looking for a long term position (2+ years). It’s important to us that we find someone that our children can attach to long term.
A bit about us We have 3 boys: 5.5, 3.5 and 1 YO. Thry are wonderful kids and very active. We do minimal screen time, usually only on the weekends. Our oldest is in school full time, our 3.5 YO attends a “nature school” 3 days a week. Our 1 YO is walking and a very easy baby, full of smiles and loves to read books together and play with his brothers. We take a very natural / holistic approach to health. Our oldest had a severe neurological reaction to his first vaccine when he was 2 months old, so we no longer vaccinate our children. If you’d like to learn more about what happened to him, I’m happy to share.
What we are looking for someone who:
is active, energetic, and strong to keep up with the kids. They love going on bike rides, playing soccer, going to the beach, and we have several sets of stairs in our home, so it’s important you are looking for an active environment.
does not have young children of their own. We need someone with flexibility to stay late sometimes, come early, etc.
is fluent in english - it doesn’t need to be your primary language, bet some fluency is required. Out boys know a good amount of Spanish already.
has a clean driving record - we have a new minivan just for the kids transportation, so you would drive that when here.
Job responsibilities will vary depending on our work schedules. Overall we like to be involved and do as much as possible with our kids, so you will not be expected to do these things every day:
Prepare meals
Create art and other activities throughout the day
Keep house tidy (we have a housekeeper who comes once per week to do a deep clean)
Assist with folding laundry
Assist with food prep (we eat primarily plants and whole foods so we are always steaming veggies, cooking beans, etc).
Wash and put away dishes throughout the day
School drop off and pick up when needed (we try to do this most of the time)
Hours will generally be 7:30 - 4:30, but with some flexibility for shorter days on Fridays.
We consider the first 2 months a “trial period” and will pay $25/hour.
After that period, we are willing to consider an increase in pay, and will provide the following additional benefits:
8 paid holidays
10 paid vacation days (the time accrues monthly, so after 6 months you will have earned 1 week of paid vacation time)
