The Mellano Farm Stand is a family owned & operated farm that is open to the public Thursday-Sunday to purchase locally grown flowers, produce, honey, etc. fresh from the farm. Seasonal u-pick options as well as seasonal festivals offers the public the opportunity to come and enjoy being part of the farm.
This spring the Mellano family will also be adding Farm School to their offerings. Children will be able to come to the farm weekly to participate and learn at the farm. Initially the farm school will be offered Thursday mornings, but as it grows we will offer an additional day (TBD) & events.
Your background includes the ability to teach a variety of children (4-9 years old is the target age), the ability to create content for the classes, and the ability to work with & manager teacher's assistants who will assist you as groups are broken into smaller groups. In addition we often host field trips and groups and your assistance with this education will also be helpful. This role could be very limited to farm school hours (Thursday mornings) or could be more robust with additional events and field trips, etc. This will be discussed when we talk, but it would be great for you to include your desire in your cover letter.
