Part-Time Bookkeeper / Office Manager

We are a small, private school in San Diego seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Office Manager to join our team.
This is a part-time position (15 hours per week) with the potential to grow into a full-time role.
This role is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and enjoys working with people in a friendly, mission-driven educational environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage accounts receivable (daily invoicing and payment processing)
Handle accounts payable (bill payments, vendor coordination)
Prepare and submit payroll (via external payroll service)
Maintain employee records and assist with staff onboarding/offboarding
Serve as a point of contact for employee HR-related questions
Interface with local government agencies and insurance companies
Ensure administrative and financial procedures are followed
Requirements:
Working knowledge of QuickBooks (required)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Punctual, dependable, and professional demeanor
Must be able to pass a background check
Prior experience in bookkeeping and/or office management preferred
