The ideal Accounting Manager candidate will have previous experience managing an accounting team, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a proactive mindset.

The person in this position will:

Assist in all office financial functions such as payroll, accounts payable, cash journals, sales journals, bank reconciliations, inventory records, bank deposits, accounts receivable, capital spending logs, and assist in preparation of monthly financial statements for management.

Directly supervises employees in the Accounting Department. Responsible for overseeing payroll timekeeping and processing of bi-weekly payroll in ADP, accounts receivable team and general accounting team.

Serve as Financial Lead on Business Central ERP implementation to ensure accounting transactions are reflected accurately in the general ledger and related subsystems.

Prepare the monthly general journal, payroll, and garage journal entries.

Oversee cash journals, sales journals, bank reconciliations, inventory records, bank deposits, accounts receivable, fixed are reflected accurately in the general ledger and related subsystems.

Review general ledger for accurate account and cost center coding and prepare financial analysis by the 25th of the of the month for the prior month-end close.

Backup for payroll position as needed during absences.

Ensures all federal and state taxes and governmental fees are paid in a timely fashion.

Maintains checking accounts, journals and records for the profit sharing, 401(k) and Flex-125 plans.

Assist in preparation of the annual operating budget. Be a business partner to operation managers to ensure they have timely financial data to lead their departments.

Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable labor laws.

Other duties as assigned.

Skills Needed:

Must have 5 years of accounting experience plus BA/BS College Degree in Accounting and/or equivalent combination of education and experience, with 2 years of Supervision experience. Have a professional appearance, friendly and helpful personality, and full knowledge of accounting principles. Proven experience Business Central 365, Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook, ADP WFN payroll software is preferred.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers for data entry, to handle, or feel; talk or hear, stand, balance, walk; reach with hands and arms; possibly climb steps, stoop or kneel. The employee must regularly move head and neck in various positions, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
