Position: Lead Irrigation Technician
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Irrigation Technician to join our team. In this role, you will oversee and execute the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial irrigation systems. As a team leader, you'll ensure high-quality work, provide guidance to crew members, and deliver exceptional customer service while promoting water-efficient practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems including valves, controllers, backflow devices, and sprinklers.
Install new irrigation systems and retrofit existing ones with smart irrigation technology.
Program and operate controllers for optimal water usage and seasonal adjustments.
Conduct system audits to ensure efficiency and compliance with local codes.
Lead and train a small crew on projects, ensuring safety, timeliness, and workmanship standards.
Communicate effectively with clients to explain work performed and suggest improvements.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of professional irrigation experience (residential and/or commercial).
Strong understanding of irrigation hydraulics, wiring, and controller programming.
Familiarity with smart irrigation technologies (e.g., weather-based controllers, flow sensors).
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to read site plans and interpret technical documents.
Backflow prevention certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
