We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Generator Service Technician to join our West Sacramento team. In this position you will perform preventative and corrective maintenance of standby generator systems 5KW through 3200 KW, troubleshoot and diagnose emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls and complete load bank testing following the proper procedures for testing and safety. The wage range for this role is $38 - $45/hour and is awarded based on industry knowledge and experience.
In this role, you will also be responsible for:
Troubleshooting and diagnosing gas and diesel industrial engines
Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics
Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
Working in a safe manner at all times.
Qualifications and Skills
Required
Minimum of five years’ experience in the back-up generator industry
High School Diploma
Graduation from a Diesel Engine Training Program
Preferred
CAT, Cummins, Kohler, Detroit - MTU experience
Waukesha Natural Gas Engine and Prime Power experience
Knowledge of gas and diesel industrial engine fuel systems and controls
Knowledge of automatic transfer switches and control logic
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
ability to remain seated for 15 minutes or more while driving
ability to bend, squat, stand, and reach as necessary
experience driving in various weather conditions to perform job functions, towing and backing trailers.
Classification: Non-exempt
Weekly Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday
Standard Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (hours may vary depending on scheduling demands). Must also be available for the on-call rotation. Occasional overnight or extended travel.
Benefits: full-time, defined as working an average of 40 hours per week, eligible for company benefits as defined in the company handbook.
