IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT
The ideal candidate will have experience with supervising a unionized workforce including team building, labor agreements and discipline. They will be capable of maintaining a vehicle repair facility in compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the following qualities and skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office computer programs and functions.
Excellent interpersonal skills including tact, judgment, and patience in working with the public, staff, and City departments.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities and multi-task.
Well organized in a continuously evolving environment.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Five years of experience as a journey level mechanic or equipment body mechanic, including some supervisory experience. Specialized automotive or equipment repair courses.
