Duties and Responsibilities
Work from complex assembly drawings, wire lists, & written process instructions (i.e. – router sheets)
Build complex wire harness assemblies using wire harness boards (nail boards)
Complete wire harness installation and final wiring of large, complex cabinets, control panels, & other electro-mechanical assemblies
Build connector assemblies using precision and calibrated hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, crimpers, torque wrenches, soldering irons, heat guns, etc.), properly securing assemblies using lacing, spot ties, & cable clamps, and properly protecting assemblies with nylon tape, Expando sleeving, and/or shrink tubing.
Prepare and precisely apply adhesives, conformal coat, and RTV to assemblies
Use judgment in re-working or re-wiring to bring unit within quality control specifications
Execute in support of Key Performance Indicators:
Quality – reduce & eliminate defects, miswires, rework, etc.
Schedule – meeting production deadlines
Budget – accurately completing jobs within allocated hours
Able to adapt to a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment
Able to work with minimal supervision and may provide guidance to other technicians
Interpret and follow written documents such as ISO procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and safety rules
Interface with other departments (e.g. – Quality & Test) to assure efficient flow of information and materials
Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
Comply with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certification; required to maintain the certification
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or GED and 2+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in the field or in a related area
Proficient in basic computer skills
Demonstrated strong decision-making and leadership skills
Strong ability to read & comprehend complex assembly drawings, wire lists, & written process instructions required
J-STD Solder certification preferred
IPC-610 or IPC-620 certification preferred
Must have good wiring and mechanical skills
Experience with Material Resource Planning (MRP) a plus
