Small Social Security Disability/SSI law firm seeks full-time case manager/paralegal. We are looking to immediately hire a reliable and dependable individual who has excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills, positive and pleasant attitude and demeanor, good typing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask and work independently. This position requires a friendly, compassionate and charismatic individual with a desire to help others who are less fortunate.
This position would be excellent for someone who enjoys working in a busy office, interacting with clients, has a passion for the legal field, and would like a long term position in a small firm.
GENERAL DUTIES:
1. File disability initial applications and appeals with the Social Security Administration;
2. Calendar appointments;
3. Communicate directly with clients, assist clients with day-to-day questions, act as liaison between client/attorney;
4. Communicate with various Social Security offices and staff;
5. Process incoming and outgoing mail;
6. Prepare various legal forms, documents and letters on a daily basis;
7. Assist in answering phones;
8. Other general duties as needed by the firm
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: We are looking for a candidate who has legal experience in a fast-paced law office environment. Prior Social Security Disability/SSI experience is a BIG plus. SPANISH SPEAKING is also a major plus!
