For over two and a half decades, City Wide has been a trusted partner for ownership, and property & facility managers throughout the Western United States, providing commercial properties with first-class maintenance and service repairs.

Job Summary:

The Landscape Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance, quality, and client satisfaction of commercial landscape maintenance operations across California. This role requires a seasoned leader with in-depth expertise in commercial landscaping, including service delivery, client communication, budgeting and bidding, scheduling, and team supervision. The Landscape Service Manager plays a key role in driving operational excellence, ensuring contractual and quality standards are met, and supporting the company’s broader growth and service objectives. Through strong leadership and strategic execution, this position is vital to elevating the standard of care across our landscape portfolio.

Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day landscape maintenance operations across assigned commercial properties.

Conduct routine property inspections including detailed inspection reports with photos to assess service quality, identify site risks, and generate follow-up with clients or suggest additional service opportunities.

Implement quality control processes and corrective actions as needed.

Execute and oversee day-to-day service tickets, including coordinating subcontractors or internal field teams to ensure quality and timeliness.

Serve as the direct point of contact for clients within your assigned portfolio; manage ongoing communication, issue resolution, and relationship nurturing; potentially extending support beyond standard business hours.

Collaborate with the Director of Landscape Operations on review and preparation of service bids, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis.

Monitor labor costs, material use, and service scope to ensure adherence to contract budgets.

Prepare recommendations for upselling and enhancements based on property needs and client goals.

Identify and secure new landscape recurring service contracts through proactive field visits, cold outreach, networking, and referrals.

Achieve monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets across all designated categories, including proposals, service tickets, inspections, and any future performance metrics outlined by the company.

Align daily activities with company KPIs including ticket response time, property visit frequency, inspection volume, and proposal targets.

Conduct property assessments and identify opportunities to introduce or expand service packages.

Maintain consistent prospecting cadence and sales pipeline activity using CRM systems.

Participate in onboarding sessions for new accounts, contributing to the development of comprehensive maintenance plans following the determination of service scopes.

Conduct property walkthroughs, providing reassurance to field staff and ensuring adherence to service commitments.

Develop and maintain weekly and seasonal schedules to optimize team performance and meet client timelines.

Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for specialized services such as irrigation repairs, tree trimming, or seasonal planting.

Adjust schedules based on weather conditions, emergencies, or client needs while ensuring service delivery continuity.

Provide on-site support by monitoring tasks and offering guidance to staff in the field. Escalate major issues or concerns to the Landscape Operations Manager.

Conduct hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations in alignment with company standards.

Foster a high-performance, safety-first culture with an emphasis on accountability and growth.

Provide accurate and timely reporting to the Landscape Operations Manager including site performance, incident reports, crew efficiency, and client feedback.

Utilize company-provided software, email platforms, team chat applications, and mobile portals for efficient communication and task management.

Fulfill additional duties as delegated by management.

Qualifications:

Minimum of five years’ experience in commercial landscape service management.

Proven track record of managing teams, enhancing service delivery, and developing strong client relationships.

Strong knowledge of California landscape maintenance requirements, irrigation systems, seasonal planning, and sustainability practices.

Experience in estimating, budgeting, and managing operational P&Ls.

Proficient in scheduling software, mobile field management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Valid driver’s license with clear driving record. (Motor Vehicle Record required).

Comfortable working outside in various weather conditions and performing physical tasks including lifting, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.\

Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-based environment requires routine driving between job sites throughout California.
