Veg Cafe & Bar, one of Sacramento County's premier plant-based restaurants, is seeking a passionate and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The position is currently part time (2-4 shifts per week). The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about plant-based cuisine and possesses a strong work ethic. As a Line Cook at Veg Cafe and Bar, you will play a crucial role in preparing and executing our menu with precision and creativity. You will work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food quality and consistency.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with kitchen team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas
- Assist with inventory management as needed
- Uphold the restaurant's commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Passion for plant-based cuisine and knowledge of plant based cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
