Description Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing & Collections Specialist to join our client's team. This role is responsible for processing claims, communicating with patients, government agencies, and third-party payers to ensure accurate reimbursement. The specialist will work closely with internal departments to obtain charge information, coding updates, and appeal claims as necessary. This position requires a strong understanding of billing and collection processes and the ability to resolve unpaid claims efficiently.Key Responsibilities:
Review, correct, and submit claims to payers accurately and in a timely manner.
Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and government agencies to gather and process necessary reimbursement information.
Identify and resolve unpaid accounts, initiate appropriate collection actions, and ensure follow-up for successful claim resolution.
Monitor past-due and denied claims, taking corrective actions as needed.
Calculate write-offs and process debit/credit adjustments in compliance with policies.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with billing regulations.
Provide general office support and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s/Technical degree preferred.
Experience: Medical billing and collections experience preferred.
Skills:Basic knowledge of medical billing and insurance reimbursement processes.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
Proficiency in data entry and office software.
