In this job, you’ll lead the development and implementation of GIS tools needed to perform environmental screening of work, a key control in the environmental compliance program. You will also lead the resolution of complex issues related to GIS projects, provide technical support, and lead comprehensive GIS data remediation efforts for the Environmental Department. Performs in-depth analyses, approves, develops recommendations, and creates scripts, tools or models where appropriate to enhance data flow and analysis
Leads data remediation efforts including analysis, quality control, and performs or coordinates the asset updates to ensure data is accurate and aligns with actual field conditions
Identifies industry trends and maintains relationships with relevant stakeholders and provides consultative services on an as-needed basis to address complex GIS problems/issues
Designs, develops and implements procedures to improve efficiency of operations and processes associated with mapping standards and GIS tools
Utilizes geospatial software to process, analyze, and model geospatial data to improve processes and data quality
Collaborates with internal/external business partners to evaluate impacts on departmental activities that rely on GIS data or processes
Conducts land, regulatory, and related project searches, including identification of new data sources helping identify industry trends and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders
Produces high-quality map products for presentations, meetings, public usage and departments; creating key business maps and producing ad-hoc or on-off maps
Provide functional direction, guidance, and training to staff members to ensure conformance to departmental standards and procedures

Minimum Qualifications
Five or more years of experience in GIS and analyzing mapping data.
The preferred
Specialized GIS education or GIS certification.
AutoCAD Certificate, Six Sigma, and/or PMP
Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate up and down the chain of command
Leadership skills related to leading small teams to address issues quickly.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of cGIS, SAP, and GESW systems and data
Current knowledge of new GIS technology and industry trends
Knowledge of electrical assets, utility construction and maintenance and related environmental impacts.
You should know
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
