Medical Director, Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program - Part-Time Richmond, CA

The Medical Director, Physician Assistant Studies Program, reports directly into the Program Dean for Chamberlain University’s new Physician Assistant (PA) Program. The Medical Director is actively involved in the PA program. He/she will support the Program Director in ensuring that both didactic instruction and supervised clinical practice experiences meet current practice standards as they relate to the PA role in providing patient care. The Medical Director will be instrumental in forging relationships with clinical sites in close partnership with the MPAS Executive Dean and Program Director. He/she will be actively involved in recruitment and development of clinical sites for supervised clinical practice experiences as well as providing instruction. He/she will also be involved in evaluating student performance and will assist the Program Director and faculty in the design, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum and the program.

 

This is a part-time, onsite role at the Richmond campus contributing approximatley 8 hours per week. The Medical Director will:Work with Project Director to ensure that didactic instruction and supervised clinical practice experiences meet current practice standards as they relate to the PA role in providing patient careFacilitate communication between the program and the local medical community.Recruit and develop clinical sites for supervised clinical practice experiencesParticipate in evaluation of supervised clinical practice experiences to ensure that compliance with established ARC-PA accreditation standards and guidelines.Chair the PA Program’s Advisory Board.Participate in the review and revision of program mission, policies and procedures as needed.Assist the Program Director and PA faculty in the design, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum and the programProvide teaching and instruction in areas of expertise.Provide a physician perspective to students.Participate in student recruitment, selection, and admission processes.Provide counseling and advising to students, faculty and staff when appropriate.Complete other duties as assigned.
