Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team based in Port Hueneme, California. The Staff Accountant will be integral in managing and analyzing financial transactions, ensuring the accuracy of financial documents, as well as assisting with budget preparation and financial audits. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Conducting regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial information accuracy Assisting with general accounting tasks and financial analysis Managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Maintaining the general ledger and journal entries Participating in the month-end close process Ensuring compliance with accounting and financial standards and regulations Collaborating with the accounting team to streamline accounting functions and operations Providing assistance during financial audits Utilizing financial software to perform duties and create reports. Requirements Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Bank Reconciliations Demonstrated knowledge of General Ledger maintenance Ability to record and manage Journal Entries Experience with Month End Close procedures Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to work independently and as part of a team Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
