2024 Summer Internship Location: This role is scheduled to be 100% remote. While remote, finalists MUST reside in a one of the following states to be eligible for employment with Kaiser Permanente: CA, CO, DC, GA, HI, MD, NY, OR, VA, or WA. Team Overview: The Data Science & Intelligent Applications team evangelizes Data Science and Machine Learning by exploring and maturing Data Scientist techniques. Amongst other things, the team is focused on; · Building statistical models · Regression and classification · Data mining & pattern identification Project: Using statistical techniques create a rich pipeline to understand the distribution and biases inherent in the data. Apply Computational and inferential techniques to extract knowledge from structured (tabular) and unstructured (video, voice, medical images) data. Desired Skillset: · Strong programming skills in Python · Familiarity with data science terminology · Prior experience working in machine learning and AI · Knowledge of Distributed technology like Hadoop/Spark is a plus. · Working knowledge of Cloud (Azure, AWS) · Advanced analytical and data skills, with the ability to grasp new concepts, approaches and systems and advanced decisions making · High level of confidentiality and demonstrated ability to maintain sensitive information in strictest confidence and able to maintain confidentiality in all business matters · Ability to work independently using good judgment · Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively explain detailed information · Creative mindset to brainstorm new ideas · Knowledge of the healthcare and technology industry · Self-motivated with exceptional organizational skills Preferred Degree of Study: Schools of Engineering - Computer Science, BioMedical Engineering (Bachelor) School of Arts and Sciences - Computer Science, Mathematics, CSEE (Bachelor) Job Summary: Lay the groundwork for a dynamic future with an industry leader.
