job detailsOur client in Perris is looking to add a Procurement Specialist to their growing team! Key Responsibilities:
Analyze raw material inventory levels based on production demands.
Review and accurately adjust inventory PAR levels.
Conduct daily physical inventory and process orders accordingly.
Coordinate and verify purchase orders with the Receiving team through to completion.
Handle returns and damages with vendors.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Submit purchase orders to approved vendors according to requirements.
Ensure vendors receive and acknowledge all submitted orders.
Report inaccuracies and update purchase orders as needed.
Follow up on past-due purchase orders and backorders.
Assist Accounts Payable with resolving invoice issues, interacting with requesters, vendors, and AP processors.
Update sales and purchase orders with current ETAs.
Reconcile receiving discrepancies.
Meet with suppliers as needed.
Collaborate with upper management to forecast and commit volume for FTL or special buys.
Ensure competitive pricing for commodity items without compromising quality.
Skills and Experience:
3+ years of purchasing experience.
Advanced Excel skills.
analytical, decision-making, and negotiation abilities.
Excellent relationship-building skills with vendors.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Self-motivated with the ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines.
Experience with online shopping required.
Proficiency with computers and necessary software.
