We are currently seeking a dependable Day Porter to assist us in maintaining the overall cleanliness and upkeep of our facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the grounds and facilities, performing minor maintenance tasks as needed, and be available to respond to on-call emergencies related to the facilities, which may require some night and weekend work. The ability to multitask is essential for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the property grounds and common areas
- Floor care, including vacuuming, mopping, and carpet spotting
- Surface care, such as dusting, sanitizing, glass/mirror/window cleaning, metal/wood polishing, wall cleaning, clean blinds and draperies, clean overhead vents
- Complete routine maintenance, including inspecting building systems, replace lightbulbs, light painting and plumbing, gathering and disposing trash, and other tasks as assigned
- Notify managers regarding the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems
- Move office furniture and supplies manually or with truck
- Maintain the security of the building and company assets
- Keep the janitor’s closet organized and maintain all equipment in good working order
- Complete special cleaning and maintenance projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Valid California driver's license
- Proficient in the use and operation of hand tools and electrical tools
- Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, walk throughout the shift, and climb ladders when necessary
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and cleaning utensils
- Skilled in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and keeping work areas clean and organized
- Able to identify and report safety issues and adhere to safety protocols, safety equipment, and chemical use
- Capable of working independently, being proactive, and completing duties with limited supervision
- Familiarity with reading maps and plans, taking pictures, sending pictures, and texting with a cell phone
- Previous custodial, maintenance, and day porter experience is a plus.
