Senior Developer, Data Engineering Framework (Pacific Investment Management Company LLC (PIMCO) – Newport Beach, CA); Multiple positions available. Offered salary of $177,029 to $197,029 per year. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine design feasibility while adhering to technical limitations and time constraints. Use Informatica and database techniques such as analytical functions and UNIX shell scripting in order to develop in-house analytics application and systems software solutions, and replace legacy scripts with new Informatics mapping and mapplets. Work with internal technical staff including systems analysis, engineers, and programmers to design systems solutions and analyze system limitations and capabilities, and performance requirements. Store, retrieve, and manipulate data used for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Design, develop, and modify software systems using mathematical analysis and models to predict and measure design outcomes. Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures and programming initiatives. Convert Sybase Stored Procedures and embedded SQLs into Oracle PL/SQL blocks. Write, test, debug, and tune complex SQL and PL/SQL blocks, and write stored procedures, packages, triggers, views, and materialized views for Relational Database Managements Systems including Oracle. Analyze existing code, identify, isolate, and investigate problems, and develop technical strategies to accomplish ETL tasks. Create and update Autosys batch job definitions and boxes.
Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a related field and six years of experience in software engineering, software development, or technology analysis/consulting. Must have one year of experience in each of the following: Perl Scripting; Python Scripting; C and C; UNIX shell scripting -csh, tsch, ksh, and bash; PL/SQL; Informatica Power Center; and, Autosys. Experience may be gained concurrently.
