CAT Fire Equipment is hiring a Fire Extinguisher Shop Technician—an entry-level but essential role for someone who wants to become a licensed fire extinguisher technician. This is hands-on work with real purpose: you’ll be servicing equipment that protects lives and property. No experience? No problem. If you’re reliable, detail-oriented, and ready to learn, we’ll train you.

What You’ll Do
Service, test, and maintain fire extinguishers in our licensed shop
Use tools, follow safety guidelines, and inspect every unit to state standards
Keep your workspace clean, organized, and your logs accurate
Follow strict safety protocols and take real pride in your craftsmanship
What It Takes
A genuine interest in becoming a CAL FIRE Licensed Extinguisher Technician
Comfortable working with tools and mechanical tasks—prior experience is a plus, but not required
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
Physically able to be on your feet and lift 25 lbs
Reliable, respectful, and ready to work every day
Important: This position requires obtaining a California State Fire Extinguisher License within your first 90 days. We will train you, provide the official study guide, and set you up for success. You are responsible for passing the test. We’ll reimburse the exam fee only after you pass.
