Job Title: CAD Engineer (SolidWorks) - Outdoor Vehicle Manufacturing
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks software to join our dynamic team at an outdoor vehicle manufacturing company. As a CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and designing 3D models, assembling components, and generating detailed technical drawings for various outdoor vehicles. Additionally, experience with CNC machines or routers is required to ensure efficient production processes.
Responsibilities:
Utilize SolidWorks software to create accurate and detailed 3D models of outdoor vehicles, including but not limited to all structural components, mechanical systems, and aesthetic features.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, production managers, and manufacturing technicians, to develop and refine vehicle designs.
Generate technical drawings, specifications, and documentation required for manufacturing and assembly processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Conduct design analysis, including stress analysis and finite element analysis, to validate the integrity and performance of vehicle components.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source appropriate materials, components, and technologies that align with design requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
Work closely with the manufacturing team to optimize production processes, providing guidance on CNC machining or routing techniques for the fabrication of vehicle components.
Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance the overall design quality, manufacturability, and functionality of the outdoor vehicles.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in CAD design, SolidWorks software, CNC machining, and outdoor vehicle manufacturing.
Troubleshoot and resolve any design-related issues or manufacturing challenges that may arise during the development and production phases.
Maintain accurate records of design changes, revisions, and updates, ensuring effective version control and document management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
Proven experience as a CAD Engineer or similar role, specifically using SolidWorks software for 3D modeling and drafting.
Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and materials selection for outdoor vehicles.
Proficiency in conducting design analysis using tools such as stress analysis and finite element analysis.
Experience with CNC machines or routers, including programming and tooling selection, to optimize manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to outdoor vehicle manufacturing, such as safety and durability requirements.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve design or production issues.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective cross-functional teamwork and interaction with suppliers and vendors.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
