URGENT: Paralegal/Legal Assistant/Law Student Needed – Litigation & Probate Experience

E. Audrey Law, PC is a full-service litigation law firm with a primary focus on high-profile, contested trust and estates cases. While litigation is at the core of our work, we take a holistic approach to legal representation and are expanding our reach into broader practice areas, including legal aid for the LA Fire Victim community.

We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Law Student with experience in litigation and/or probate, trusts & estates. This is an independent contractor position starting on an hourly basis, with immense potential for growth.

What We’re Looking For:

-Extensive understanding of the litigation cycle and/or strong probate, trusts & estates background

-Proficiency in preparing court litigation documents, including notices and proofs of service

-Tech-savvy—comfortable with legal software and digital workflows

-Meticulous attention to detail—flawless execution is a must

-Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and thrive in a flexible work environment

If you have litigation experience but lack probate experience, we still encourage you to apply, as our practice encompasses a broad range of litigation areas.

Additionally, we are expanding our legal aid and services to support the LA Fire Victim community. If providing legal assistance to those affected by the fires is something that motivates and inspires you, we would love to hear from you.

Preferred but Not Required:

-Familiarity with California court rules and e-filing systems

-Experience with legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.)

-Prior work in family law, civil litigation, or probate court

-Strong legal writing and drafting skills

If you don’t check every box but believe you’d be a great fit, we encourage you to apply!

Compensation:

Based on current market data for Orange County, California, the average hourly rates are:

Paralegal:

Entry-Level: Approximately $30.76 per hour

Highly Experienced: Up to $61.45 per hour

Legal Assistant: Approximately $25.90 per hour

Law Student: Starting at the California minimum wage of $16.50 per hour, with potential for higher rates based on experience and year in law school.

Actual compensation will be based on experience and qualifications, with opportunities for higher rates depending on expertise.

Workload & Flexibility:

-Flexible work options—in-person, remote, or hybrid based on what best suits all needs

-Workload will vary initially based on demand, but there is strong potential for increased hours and long-term work for the right candidate

-Growth potential—the stronger your execution, the more opportunities you’ll receive

Community Impact:

As we expand legal aid and services to support the LA Fire Victim community, there will be opportunities to engage in meaningful, high-impact work that directly helps those in need. If you’re passionate about using your legal skills to make a difference, we strongly encourage you to apply.
