Sitter4paws pet sitter staff provide the highest standard of care to our clients, their homes, and most importantly their pets. You are the only direct, in person contact the pets have while using our service so it is imperative that all our pet sitters are trustworthy, reliable and communicative animal lovers.
To be successful as a pet sitter, you must be willing to learn animal behavior and adept at caring for all kinds of pets. Ultimately, an outstanding pet sitter should be able to demonstrate excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
What you’ll be doing:
You will be working with our clients' pets in a private setting (clients homes), following detailed instructions while the owners are away regarding each pet's individual care, and ensuring the health and safety of the pets while the clients are away anytime between the hours of 7am-8pm. At the end of every service you will write a detailed report with photos to send to the clients using the TTP app.
Responsibilities:
Safely handling pets
Arriving at clients homes within their allotted time frame and staying for the entire duration of the service
Providing pets with food and fresh water
Administering medication to pets according to the instructions provided by pet owners
Cleaning pet areas, litter boxes, cages, and aquariums, as well as changing rodents' beddings
Exercising pets as needed, which includes taking dogs out for regular walks
Providing updates to pet owners
Messaging and sending photos using the TTP app
Promptly notifying the office before departing the visit of pet illnesses, injuries or safety concerns
Requirements:
Be 18 years of age or older
Holiday availability
Experience with dogs and cats
Have a smartphone and dependable car with current license and insurance
Available to work a variety of hours/days including holidays and weekends
Flexible schedule and open to take last minute pet sits
Be willing and able to handle dogs that may pull on a leash
Be willing and able to give medication to dogs and cats
We require an ID verification and criminal background check for this position.
We pay $17 per hour plus milage reimbursement between visits of $0.655 per mile + tips + additional holiday pay.
We hire as employees vs. independent contractors, so you don't need to worry about getting and paying your own insurance.
