SUMMARY
Handles material flow on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operates forklifts and or pallet jacks to load and unload trucks and move material through the yard.
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Palletizes, packages, loads, unloads, moves, stacks and stores material.
Inserts items into containers and braces loads inside containers to ensure safe shipment.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Stencils, or affixes labels or other identifying information and shipping instructions onto pallets or containers.
Performs department housekeeping as needed.
