To deliver on our promise to customers, we rely on exceptionally talented, bright, and committed people. Currently, we’re seeking an Office Furniture Installer and Warehouse Operator. This skilled multitasker will manage the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing activities of the warehouse, ensuring that quality standards are met or exceeded. This person must achieve inventory accuracy, coordinate order fulfillment, and track shipping times for product orders/projects. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented and able to manage multiple facets of warehouse operations simultaneously of pre-owned furniture and office cubicles.
Warehouse Objectives of this role
Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency — with customer satisfaction the primary goal — by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals
Develop warehouse operations systems by determining cubicle and office furniture handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, and truck loading methods.
Keep the warehouse clean, ordered and up to compliance with standard of cleanliness and city codes.
Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics
Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations
Installation Objectives of this role
Be able to read a floor plan and install all brands of office furniture from Herman Miller to Steelcase and Haworth etc.
To demonstrate skills of loading a truck with proper packing materials and tie downs.
To pull and order to spec based off the install floor plan for all brands of furniture
To be able to disassemble and reassemble modular walls, phone booths or wall mounted case goods
To be able to oversee a crew of installers to complete a job project quickly and efficiently
Responsibilities
Complete daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, product storage and organization, shipping, and customer service
Go on installs or decommissions when needed or called upon
Work with job site and warehouse teams, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime
Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary
Required skills and qualifications
Knowledge of major U.S. commercial furniture brand names
Knowledge of office cubicle brands, parts, setup and decomissions
High school diploma or equivalent
Three or more years of experience in a warehouse or install role managing people
Proficiency with office furniture warehouse procedures and policies
Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff
Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal
Preferred skills and qualifications
Driver’s License
Can operate a forklift
Has tools
Has Vehicle for transportation to and from jobsite
