Job Title: Handyman/Building Maintenance Technician

About Us: Gold Coast Dental is a leading provider of dental care services with several locations dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. We are looking for a skilled and reliable Handyman/Building Maintenance Technician to ensure our facilities are well-maintained and fully operational.
Job Overview: The Handyman/Building Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the general upkeep and repair of all dental clinic facilities. This role includes performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing urgent repair needs, and ensuring that all facilities meet safety and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a variety of maintenance tasks to keep our clinics running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
General Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general building upkeep.
Preventive Maintenance: Schedule and perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and efficient operation of all equipment and facilities.
Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and repair issues to minimize downtime and ensure patient safety and comfort.
Facility Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of all clinic locations to identify and address potential maintenance issues or safety hazards.
Coordination: Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services as needed.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and inventory of equipment and supplies.
Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
Communication: Communicate effectively with clinic staff and management to report maintenance issues, project timelines, and any disruptions to operations.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, placing orders as necessary to ensure adequate stock.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Handyman or in a similar maintenance role.
Strong knowledge of various maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building repairs.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various conditions.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between clinic locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a healthcare or dental facility setting is a plus.
Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is a plus.
Spanish speaking is a plus
