Job Title: Dental Assistant

Location: Dental Urgent Care, Huntington Beach, 92648, California

Job Type: Full-time

Days: Saturday - Wednesday

Timings: 9am - 5pm

Salary: $22 - $28 per hour (depending on experience).

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Dental Assistant who is capable of managing both clinical and administrative responsibilities as needed. Our dental office is operational over the weekends as well. This hybrid role requires someone with a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage both patient-facing and administrative tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented team player with a passion for providing exceptional patient care while ensuring smooth clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Support:

Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including cleanings, fillings, crowns, and extractions.

Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.

Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed.

Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean, organized, and fully stocked.

Educate patients on post-operative care, oral hygiene, and treatment options.

Record patient information in the electronic health records system i.e., Open Dental accurately.

Monitor patient comfort and provide reassurance during procedures.

Administrative Support (Front Office):

Greet and check in patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment.

Schedule and confirm patient appointments, manage patient flow, and handle cancellations or rescheduling.

Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.

Process insurance claims, verify patient coverage, and assist with billing and payments.

Maintain patient records and update information in the Open Dental.

Handle office correspondence, including emails, faxes, and mail.

Ensure front office supplies are stocked and organized.

Qualifications:

Dental Assistant certification or diploma from an accredited program (required).

Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience, with exposure to both clinical and administrative tasks.

Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, including insurance verification, billing, and scheduling.

Experience with dental softwares.

Bilingual (Spanish or another language) is a plus.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with patients and team members in a friendly, professional manner.

Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy office environment

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
