Job Summary:

The Hotel Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment for guests. This includes cleaning guest rooms, hallways, and public areas, restocking supplies, and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and tidy guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas according to hotel standards

Change bed linens, replace towels, and restock guest amenities

Vacuum, sweep, mop, and dust furniture and fixtures

Sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, tubs, and sinks

Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or lost-and-found items to the supervisor

Respond promptly to guest requests and ensure excellent customer service

Follow established safety procedures and sanitation guidelines

Maintain cleaning equipment and notify management of any needed supplies or repairs

Assist with laundry duties, if required

Follow hotel procedures for entering and leaving occupied rooms

Adhere to confidentiality and privacy policies concerning guests

Perform deep-cleaning tasks and special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in a hotel or similar environment is a plus

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Good physical stamina; ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts

Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members

Working Conditions:

Frequent exposure to cleaning agents and chemicals

Physically demanding, with repetitive movements and standing for long periods

Fast-paced environment, often with tight deadlines for room turnovers

May involve handling dirty laundry, trash, and biohazards with appropriate PPE

Performance Metrics:

Timeliness and accuracy of room turnovers

Adherence to safety and hygiene standards
