We have been established since 1989. We have a great local regular customer base and consider ourselves one of Lake Forest's original bar's/pubs.
We serve beer and wine and have specialty sandwiches.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a s Prep Cook to join our Pub and Deli. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of ingredients and performing basic cooking tasks to support our kitchen operations. This is an excellent opportunity for any cook/chef with experience looking for a side weekend job. The shift is from 11:00am-5:00pm.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables, cutting/slicing meat, and measuring ingredients
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food preparation
- Prepare basic dishes, such as salads, soups, sandwiches, burgers and wraps. Also Mexican food and pizzas.
- Assist with ideas for new dishes
- Ensure all food is prepared and stored in accordance with safety and sanitation guidelines
- Clean and maintain work areas, equipment, utensils, and tools
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food handling procedures
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment, such as knives, mixers, and ovens
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexibility to work in different areas of the kitchen as needed (e.g., prep station, line cook)
We offer competitive pay rates based on experience. This position is part-time with opportunities for career growth within our organization.
Potential to earn up to $40 per hour right away with tips. The average is around $30 per hour with tips.
