We are looking for a Cheesemonger to join our small team.
Position Details:
Part Time
Must be available on weekends including holidays and nights
21+ years of age
Base pay is $17 + tips, increased hourly rate based on experience.
Must have some type of customer service experience, restaurant or bar experience preferred.
Must have a passion for cheese, charcuterie, and wine. We will train on cheese, wine, and product knowledge; but you need to have an interest in food and beverage, and the story behind were artisanal products come from to succeed.
Picks up information quickly and can adapt to changing menu items with guidance.
Able to multitask.
Completes extra side work on slow days and maintains calm under pressure during rushes, with equal effectiveness and positivity.
Positive attitude and ability to complete tasks independently.
Passion for creating a memorable guest experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.
-Answer questions about our food and beverage offerings, and make genuine recommendations.
-Take and make food and beverage orders from guests. In both grab and go and bar seating situations.
-Perform side work such as cleaning, food preparation, and restocking throughout each shift.
-Maintain clean service areas at all times.
-Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
-Take payment from customers, operate a credit card machine and a cash register.
-Be ready and willing to assist fellow employees as situations arise.
-Create custom cheese and charcuterie boxes, sandwiches, and salads.
-Operate a meat slicer (will train).
-Complete opening and closing procedures.
-Pour wine, beer, and build wine based cocktails.
-Lead customers in wine tastings.
-Educate customers on background of various cheese and beverage offerings and pairings.
-Dishwashing and cleaning procedures.
