This role reports to the CTO, who is an experienced Walt Disney Engineer, Licensed California Professional Engineer and an Adjunct Faculty member at a CSU Engineering Department. A letter of recommendation will be provided as well as the ability to list company experience on future resumes. Also, credit for working under a PE will be given to the successful candidate upon completion of the internship. CTO is well-connected, so networking opportunities will be presented to a successful intern performance.
This role requires strong CAD Solidworks skills to optimize an existing functional prototype, primarily made from carbon fiber, aluminum, and PLA. The goal is to blend separate parts into better, more clever part(s), and do shaping/blending experiments under the direction of the CTO.
Access will be given to a Fusion 3F-410 printer to create parts with carbon fiber PETG.
Must be able to travel to Fullerton, CA to access the 3D printer and for in-person demo meetings. Other meetings and Solidworks design work can be done remotely. Requires a self-starter and a clever personality.
