The Project Manager position is responsible for providing overall administrative and technical direction for complex projects of varying sizes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.
Horizons Construction Company is seeking out candidates with all levels of construction project management experience for Project Manager I, II, and Senior Project Manager roles. Primary responsibilities of a Project Manager are similar but with an expected higher level of proficiency for the senior-level position.
Responsibilities
Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
Interface with client representatives and subcontractors. Update relevant stakeholders or team members on the project progress
Set project timeline and monitor project deliverables
Plan, coordinate and/or supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned project(s) to make certain work is completed under budget and on schedule.
Authorize/approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, change requests, etc.
Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, and standards are followed to make certain we adhere to core values.
Maintain official project log and documentation files in order to track project status.
Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
Manage job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
Coach and support project team members with tasks you assign them
Perform additional assignments per management's direction.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Minimum 5 years’ in construction experience for all PM roles with at least 5 years in a project management position for our Senior PM role
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), company policies, procedures and standards; union jurisdiction, labor agreements
Strong business acumen in project planning and management
Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills required
Negotiation skills essential
Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Location: TBD (Project specific within an approximate 45-mile radius of our Orange, CA corporate office).
