Description We are seeking a Medical Coder in the healthcare industry, based in Oakland, California. This role involves medical coding and claims processing and is a contract employment opportunity with the potential for long-term engagement.Key responsibilities: Processing medical codes and claims accurately and efficiently Supporting and covering for team members who are on leave Utilizing skills in 3M, 3m Coding, Allscripts, and Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) for day-to-day tasks Familiarizing with Technologies for record keeping and auditing purposes Managing billing functions, charts and graphs, and claim administration effectively Operations and handling ICD-10, ICDM CPT, ICD-9 CPT-4 related tasks Ensuring compliance with Workers Compensation regulations and guidelines Maintaining accurate customer credit records and taking appropriate action when necessary.If you are interested, please apply today and call us at (510)470-7450Requirements Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in medical coding Proficiency in using healthcare software such as 3M, 3m Coding, Allscripts, Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), and Cerner Technologies Familiarity with auditing processes and billing functions Ability to interpret and utilize charts and graphs Experience in claim administration and clinical trial operations Knowledge of ICD-10, ICDM CPT, and ICD-9 CPT-4 coding systems Understanding of Workers Compensation processes Relevant certification in medical coding is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information following HIPAA guidelines.
