Description Our client, a rapidly growing non-profit based in Oakland, is seeking a Contracts Administrator to join their team on a temporary-to-hire basis. This role involves grant writing and compliance, contract administration, and reviewing agreements to identify risk. The ideal candidate will conduct comprehensive reviews of contract and grant agreements, focusing on financial terms, budgets, deliverables, and allocations. This is a highly collaborative and tech-forward environment, perfect for candidates with an eye for detail and strong organizational skills. Key Responsibilities:Contract and Grant Review:

Draft, review, and administer agreements, including vendor, service, employment, government, and construction contracts.

Conduct thorough reviews of financial terms, budgets, deliverables, and allocations in contracts and grant agreements.

Assess potential risks, liabilities, and compliance requirements, including financial implications and performance metrics.

Summarize and document findings, including key risks and recommendations for mitigation.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

Identify and prioritize key risks, particularly financial risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Collaborate with legal counsel and other stakeholders to address complex legal issues and negotiate favorable terms.

Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare clear, concise summaries of reviews, highlighting financial terms and risk assessments.

Maintain accurate records of contract and grant activities and provide regular updates to management.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with program managers, finance staff, and legal counsel to align strategies and ensure effective risk management.

Participate in contract negotiation and amendment processes.

Provide guidance on compliance requirements to staff.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Minimum 5+ years in contract administration, legal analysis, or risk management, including recent experience with grants.

Familiarity with construction, grants, and real estate contracts is highly desired but not required.

Experience working in a non-profit or government organization is preferred.

Paralegal certification or equivalent experience is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess risks and liabilities, particularly financial risks.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in compliance reviews and risk assessments.

Strong understanding of contract law, grant regulations, and financial principles.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal and financial concepts clearly.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met and records are accurately maintained.

Proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel required, and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience with tech-forward tools like generative AI is a bonus.

Must be local to Oakland, CA for hybrid schedule (4 days on-site; 1 day remote)
