DEFINITION:
Under general supervision of the Director of Maintenance Operations and with direction from the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Crafts Leader, within a broad framework of standard policy and procedures, to perform at journey level in a skilled and/or specialized craft or trade as related to maintenance, repair, alteration, and equipment repair duties related to work on District buildings, grounds, pools, and related equipment to include (1) grounds facilities, such as sprinklers systems, fences, playground equipment, swimming pools, and roads, and (2) buildings, such as roof leaks, holes in walls and tile floor repair; utilizing carpentry, cabinet/furniture making, painting, plumbing, electrical, concrete, and/or mechanical repair skills; and to perform skilled and/or specialized labor in a instructional capacity, and performs job related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Crafts workers may regularly supervise and instruct assistants to ensure that the work assignments of the group are carried out. While the primary assignment is to perform skilled journey level work, incumbents may spend a minor percentage of time requesting materials and making time and material estimates for jobs.
Requirements / Qualifications
Successful applicants must obtain and/or provide the following before beginning employment:

Proof of Tuberculosis clearance
Social Security Card for payroll purposes
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Pre-Employment Physical is required
