Auto Smog Diagnostic and Repair Technician

We are looking for a team player who has a smog diagnostic/repair/test license.

We have been awarded industry recognition for being the Best Repair Shop in Monterey County. Locally owned and operated 5-star rated for 63 years. We seek team members with the knowledge and experience to carry our work ethic and reputation forward.

Work typically includes Diagnosing and repairing Check engine lights, Smog Failures, Electrical concerns such as the window not going up, strange noises, and other drivability concerns. You need to be able to diagnose and repair vehicles comfortably.

Our pay structure is straightforward. The pay range for a licensed smog tech is from $35.00 per hour to $50.00 per hour, depending on your ability to diagnose and produce results, which will roll into commission once established.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with vehicles to determine the appropriate repair methods- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete repairs- Follow repair manuals and technical specifications to ensure accurate and efficient repairs- Keep detailed records of all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles

Qualifications:

- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in automotive repair

- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with vehicle repair

- Experience as a diagnostic mechanic or in vehicle repairs
