Want to be an integral part of the HQ crew at C+S? As a Roast Production Operator, you’ll work as part of a team of energetic coffee pro’s to make sure our coffee and merchandise are packaged and distributed to C+S enthusiasts, the world over. This is an entry-level position on the Roasting Team at our HQ facility in beautiful Sand City, CA. We are actually moving into a new (bigger) location just two blocks away end of August! This role is full-time and onsite Monday-Friday. We’re growing rapidly, we’re always on the hunt for new talent, and we’d love to hear from you. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, have a knack for time management, and understand the appeal of the flow state.
This position is on the training track to becoming a coffee roaster. We’re building as we grow, and we’re looking for long-term additions to the team who not only want to participate in that growth but want to learn valuable skills and knowledge along the way. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who’s ready to work in tandem. We believe in working in tandem with our crew, our community, and our earth, and we keep our motto front of mind in everything that we do.
Qualifications:
- General coffee knowledge, with a real love for coffee and a curiosity to learn more about it
- High level of attention-to-detail
- Excellent communication skills (intermediate English required)
- Superior organizational, planning, and time management skills
- Works well individually and within a team
- Can safely lift 50 lbs unassisted
- Valid CA drivers license
Bonus Qualifications:
- Coffee roasting experience
- Previously worked in a coffee roastery in any context
- Knowledge of the specialty coffee industry + coffee trends
Responsibilities:
- Accurately fill and assemble orders for shipping and delivery
- Work as part of a fast-paced team to fulfill wholesale/e-commerce orders accurately and efficiently
- Learn to successfully operate production machinery, sealer, scales, and grinders with efficiency
- Safely operate a pallet jack
- Prep, organize, fill, and quality check coffee bags to meet the needs of daily orders
- Maintain knowledge and familiarity with C+S products, packaging, and equipment
- Fully understand and execute all safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures and maintains cleanliness & organization of the roastery, HQ communal spaces, and merchandise area
- Assists in the receiving and stocking of all incoming orders as necessary
- Ensure C+S quality and culture are represented in every product and in all services
- Actively contribute to our team's goals and visions, and finding ways to improve
- Promote teamwork within the production department
- Problem solve and demonstrate strong personal initiative
- Take pride in your work and your workstations
- Ability to work occasional weekends and some holidays (this is rare and more on an emergency basis, you will never work on Thanksgiving or Christmas)
