This posting is for incumbent personnel only.This position is to support the testing services to Aerospace testing at NASA ARC across the four phases of testing: planning, preparation, operation, and post-test. This position includes the following: Provide technical support for test engineering working in such areas as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement pertaining to electrical, electronic or mechanical components or equipment. Must have some practical knowledge of science and engineering with respect to test theory and practical aerospace test applications. Requires practical knowledge of test environments, test planning and execution. Includes workers who prepare design drawings, test plans, and assist with the design, evaluation and/or modification of test equipment and procedures. Perform non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete test project of relative limited scope or a portion of a larger, more diverse project. Perform one or a combination of such typical duties as:
- Test planning to include development of test requirements, schedules, and responsibility for tasks and deliverables conduct test planning to meet required test objectives. Additionally, develop tasks, schedules, milestones and associated cost estimates for test activities.
- Test preparation to include completion of test plans and safety analysis/quality assurance plan, instrumentation test plan, software and hardware design documents, facility design documents, complete end-to-end functional check-out of test facilities and conduct readiness reviews.
- Test Operations to include operation of test facilities and systems as applicable to the test program. Includes completing test operations, documentation of repairs and changes to hardware and software, and collection of raw data and provide reduced data during test operations.
- Post-Test operations to include completion of final documentation of test and facilities, documenting lessons learned and propose changes to procedures, restore facilities to original state and conduct test program debriefings.
