Volt is seeking 2 Mechanical Engineers for the Modesto, CA area with a strong background in design and manufacturing of Elastomeric based products. These are Direct Hire opportunities.As a Mechanical Engineer you be responsible for developing manufacturing processes by designing, building, testing and inspecting mechanical devices and systems, such as machine, tools and engines. • Develops designs for tooling, test equipment and machinery related to both production and developmental products. Includes development of specifications, design criteria and drawings. Proficiency in Solidworks is a requirement.• Works with vendors to produce tooling and associated hardware. Integrates hardware into production & research/development cycles.• Develops design and integrates machinery and material processing equipment to support prototyping and production efforts.• Work with customers and technical personnel to ensure requirements are met in production. Sets up prototype equipment and uses experimental materials to test theories/designs developed. . EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Master’s preferred)• Must have experience in tooling design, mechanical design or test equipment design using Solidworks and CNC Machine.• Preferred experience includes: o Experience integrating mechanical designs into production or test environments. o Experience with processing of composite structures or elastomerics. o 3 plus years of direct related experience preferred. o Experience in Systems Engineering a plus. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: • Knowledge of blueprints reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and associated tolerancing. • Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems.
