Del Rio Nut Company, an established grower- packer- shipper of almonds, is looking for an experienced almond huller/sheller operator to assist with the processing of the annual almond harvest & processing season.
This person must have worked in and around almond shellers and be familiar with the setting, running, adjusting, and quality controls needed for such operations. While the harvest is a seasonal run period, the need for shelling operation and associated processes makes this position very easily a full-time year around job.
The right candidate will have:
An understanding of the hulling & shelling of almonds and the quality focus necessary to produce excellent final product of shelled almonds.
Familiarity with the adjustments going into the hulling/shelling process and ability to judge where such adjustments are needed.
Ability to maintain basic equipment through service and adjustment and to judge when quality output is not occurring.
Reasonable forklift driving capability.
Some basic computer skills to track incoming & outgoing weights.
A ‘let’s get it done’ attitude & a willingness to work flexible schedules.
A successful applicant must have a strong work ethic, understand the importance of quality performance, work with other team members, and realize that communication with management staff is critical. Being punctual for work, assisting team members, and a positive attitude will lead to long-term success!
