We are looking to hire 3-4 part-time essay graders for the 2019 summer school cycle. Essay graders will be working "behind-the-scenes" and do not need to have prior teaching experience. Training will be provided. However, the ability to work quickly, write neatly, and provide constructive criticism is a must.
If hired, you will be working in a fast-paced environment. Your objective will be to help high school students become better writers as well as better prepared for the SAT Writing Test.
IDEAL APPLICANTS WILL DISPLAY THE FOLLOWING TRAITS/QUALITIES:
- able to work independently
- able to work at a fast pace
- strong reading and writing skills
- familiarity with the style of essays associated with the SAT and AP English Language exams
- able to commit for the entirety of the summer cycle June 11 until August 4
- able to attend a mandatory training session on June 2
REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT:
- Bachelor's degree (completed or in progressupperclassmen welcome to apply)
- Strong background in Writing, Grammar, and/or English Literature
- Prior writing tutoring experience preferred but not required

COMPENSATION and PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment is on a part-time basis. Compensation is set at $15/hr. You will most likely be working 3-4 hours/day in the morning, Monday through Friday.
LOCATION
All essay grading will be done at our branch in Arcadia. Remote essay grading positions are not available.
