Description
The ASE Auto Technician reports directly to the Shop Supervisor. You will also help to promote a safe, reliable, and efficient operating environment. You must present a professional image to all fellow Maintenance staff and drivers. The ASE Auto Technician is primarily charged with all aspects of maintenance with regard to the fleet of vehicles assigned to the San Gabriel Transit - El Monte location. Most importantly, he/she will maintain the highest standards of excellence in safety, appearance, quality of work, and attitude. This position is safety sensitive and thus requires participation in the Random Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. This position also requires a good driving record as well as a valid class “C” driver’s license.
Software Proficiencies Required:
Must be able to work with fleet management software and OEM diagnostic programs.
Work Environment/Demands of the Position:
Ability to handle stress and prioritize work assignments.
Must be able to work any shift.
Generally, works in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
Must be physically able to perform all duties as required. No physical limitations allowed.
Minimum Qualifications:
G1, A4, A5 AS, or A5 ASE Automobile Certifications are required; CNG certification is a plus.
High School diploma/GED preferred,
A minimum of 2 years of automotive repair experience.
Must have a valid class “C” driver’s license at the time of hire. Must have a clean DMV K4 Record with no drug or alcohol-related offenses in the last ten (10) years.
Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English.
Must have own tools.
