Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Design-Build Site Supervisor / Finish Carpenter to oversee and participate in the execution of high-quality projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in construction site management, finish carpentry, and an eye for architectural detail. This role requires both strong technical skills and the ability to lead a team, ensuring projects are completed on time and to our high standards.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision: Manage day-to-day site operations, coordinate subcontractors, oversee project schedules, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Finish Carpentry: Perform high-quality finish carpentry tasks, including custom trim work, cabinetry installation, millwork, and other detailed finishes.
Layout and Alignment: Precisely layout framing, walls, cabinetry, lighting, and plumbing fixtures for bathrooms and kitchens, with an emphasis on alignment, symmetry, and architectural accuracy.
Collaboration: Work closely with architects, project managers, and the design team to maintain the architectural intent and design integrity of each project.
Quality Control: Inspect work at each phase of construction, ensuring that every detail meets our firm's standards for excellence and are built according to plan. The site supervisor will also verify all work is completed to specification and is expected to regularly and professionally communicate the status of jobs (including issues, requests, etc.) with management.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve construction challenges efficiently, adapting to changes in design or scope with creativity and precision.
Communication: Maintain clear, open communication with the team, clients, and stakeholders throughout the construction process.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a site supervisory role with a focus on finish carpentry in high-end residential or commercial projects.
Technical Skills: Proficient in carpentry tools, construction best practices, and project management software. Strong experience in precise layout for framing, cabinetry, lighting, and plumbing.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional eye for detail and craftsmanship, with the ability to translate architectural designs into reality.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, managing multiple aspects of the construction process.
Problem-Solving Skills: Creative problem-solver who can adapt and thrive in a dynamic, detail-oriented environment.
License: California driver’s license and the ability to travel locally.
