Reporting to the Foreman and Leads, carpenters are responsible for the fabrication, installation, and handling of custom builds. The carpenters will need to meet the established quality standards and timelines of all builds set by the Director of Fabrication, Foreman, Leads and Project Managers.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Operating in the fabrication department under the direction of the Foreman and Lead Carpenters
Working on projects as outlined by the Foreman and adhering to the department's production schedule
Working from drawings to verify dimensions and build with attention to detail and quality
Maintaining best practices and sound fabrication techniques
Ensuring proper safety practices are followed, personal protective equipment is worn at all times, and that a safe and efficient work space is maintained.
The ideal candidate will have:
1+ years' experience in finish carpentry - additional 1+ years' experience in scenic (or related) carpentry preferred
Extensive knowledge of stationary and hand-held power tools including table saw, routers and typical rotary blade/bit tools
Possession of basic hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites
Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary to deliver the project on time
Willingness to travel on projects for out of town installs
Ability to use ladders and carry at least 50 pounds.
Knowledge of building materials pertinent to industry standards, focused on sheet goods made of wood, laminate and plastics.
