Job description

We are a rapidly growing and locally owned telecommunications consulting and management start up with an immediate opening for an experienced Low Voltage Cable Technician to add to our team of security system experts. As part of the team you will be exposed to a wide variety of cutting edge technologies, in a fast paced and fun environment. We specialize in CCTV as well as other Intrusion and Security Technology Solutions for residential and commercial projects. We are looking for a motivated and reliable self-starter who can work independently with a positive and professional demeanor.

Requirements

Must have a valid driver's license

Minimum of 2 years of experience in security installation

Must be able to climb ladders that extend up to 24 ft. and work from elevated positions on aerial lifts in height, as well as small crawl spaces

Must be able to Lift/carry items up to 50 pounds

Job Description

Responsible for performing skilled low voltage technician work in the service/repair, alteration, installation and maintenance of all security related systems.

Performs service/installation of access control, intrusion alarm, closed-circuit television systems, and other various security related systems

Evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot and perform repairs as necessary both onsite and remotely

Perform upgrades and additions to systems in order to increase functionality utilization

Perform computer program entry as required to add CCTV cameras, access control.

Prepare documentation in a variety of written and electronic formats (i.e. daily paperwork/log, time and materials, key inventory, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support in compliance with regulations and/or conveying information

Responsible for reading and understanding assigned project documentation and work orders including scope of work and determine if additional information is needed

Exhibit effective customer service skills by consistently communicating with Ops/Service Managers, Dispatcher, and customers to ensure complete customer satisfaction experience

Work closely with the service dispatcher to get all assignments planned and clearly communicate any detailed information once the work has been completed.

Follow troubleshooting guidelines and refer to technical/parts manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. in order to diagnose & repair equipment or systems.

Partner with sales to grow and protect the service segment of our business (opportunities for growth and sales commission available)

Familiarity with the following is a plus:

Physically installing Category 3, Category 5, Category 5E, Category 6, Category 6E cables

Structure Cable Distribution and Networking Systems

Terminate, assemble, and install modular connectors and coaxial connectors.

Removal and demolition of abandoned cables

Determining closet and equipment layouts and install closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures, and balance video equipment
