Marples Gears is a fast paced, precision gear and CNC machine shop. We are AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2015 certified, ITAR registered. We are located in Azusa, CA. We are a manufacturer fine pitch precision gears and related components for use in aerospace, space, medical, and instrumentation applications. We routinely machine parts with tolerances as low as .0004", and on rare occasions, as close as .0001 / .0002 tolerance. We have one 40 hour shift a week. Day shift is 6:00 am to 3:15 pm M-Thurs and 6:00am to 11:00 on Fridays. Occasional overtime on Saturday may be available depending on workload.
Primary position responsibilities:
Use common mechanical inspection equipment to perform first piece inspections, first articles and final inspections on partially machined and fully machined components per company and aerospace standards.
Perform daily in process dimensional inspections on work in process.
Complete all paperwork in conformance to company aerospace standards and QMS.
Calibrate measuring equipment as required.
Interact with manufacturing and shipping personnel to move work in process through shop according to work order planning.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have good English speaking, reading, and writing skills and have the ability to clearly communicate in English; have the ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instruction.
Have a minimum of 5 years of mechanical inspection experience, preferably in an aerospace facility.
Must be capable of efficiently performing in process and final inspections on machined components with high accuracy.
Have experience calibrating shop gauges and tools.
Must be able to use common shop measuring equipment.
Must be able to read, interpret, and work from engineering prints, drawings, and sketches.
Have good computer skills.
Have good math skills (Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry).
Be able to inspect machined components quickly, and be responsible for the quality of your own work.
Must be a team player with a good attitude.
Be flexible and multi-tasking.
A sense of humor is appreciated
Additional skills preferred, but not required:
ISO9000 or AS9100 experience is a plus.
Gear cutting and inspection knowledge is a plus, but not required.
GD&T understanding a plus.
