Facilitates the purchase and delivery processes of raw materials, equipment, supplies and services to support the daily operations of the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for selection the best vendors for the company’s needs
Work with finance, sales, and operations team to determine best suppliers
Identify potential suppliers and maintain good relationships with suppliers
Responsible for completing required paperwork and placing orders
Reviews purchase orders and contracts for accuracy and conformance to company policy
Reviews and evaluate purchase order confirmations, correcting price discrepancies, and any other information
Actively follow-up on existing orders to ensure prompt deliveries
Consistently communicates back-order and delayed delivery information to end-users on a regular basis
Analyze root causes of back-orders and delayed deliveries and identify solutions
Ensure production planning gives adequate supply for operations teams
Closely monitor and manage inventory to ensure ideal inventory level
Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and/or cost
Suggest solutions for process improvements
Ability to plan and carry out assigned projects, resolve conflict, and coordinate work with others
Other duties as deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university
5 years related experience in purchasing operations in a manufacturing environment
Good planning/project management/execution skills
Must have strong negotiating skills
Must be positive, flexible and highly motivated
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must have strong organizational and clerical/administrative skills
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
