Burbank, CA

Full time – Temp to hire.

Monday thru Friday – 7am to 3:30pm

$35 to $43hr depending on experience.

Busy film editing equipment company in Burbank which manufactures and carries all necessary parts and supplies for film editing, is looking for a Manual Lathe Machinist/Programmer to join their team.

Summary: Seeking a Manual Lathe Machinist/Programmer who can keep up with fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will program and set up manual lathes according to blueprint specifications, selecting the appropriate fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials. These materials commonly include metals, plastics, or alloys. After manufacturing a product using the lathe, you will check with precision measuring tools to ensure it follows all specifications, making any adjustments as necessary.

Responsibilities:

Create and write CNC Lathe programs from blueprints.

Setups and manually program with Fanuc controls.

Come up with a machining process from looking at blueprint.

Choose tooling needed to match machining process.

Produce quality parts and finished goods that meet established quality goals.

Set up and run CNC Lathes and Manual Lathes to close tolerance dimensions.

Detect any malfunctions of tools, machine equipment, or set ups.

Fabricate items such as machine parts and tools.

Hold close tolerance dimensions (+ .0005 / - .0000)

Set up CNC lathes according to blueprint specifications.

Select and align holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.

Conduct quality assurance checks.

Make machine adjustments.

Modify program speeds.

Meet production schedules.

Follow all safety regulations.

Qualifications:

3+ years’ experience with set up.

A high school diploma or GED certificate.

Completion of an apprenticeship or training program.

Journeyman-level experience a plus.

Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Familiarity with measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.

Experience working with various metal and plastic materials.

Technical ability and basic math skills.

Monday thru Friday - 7am to 3:30pm

$35 to $43hr depending on experience.
